Ikea Aventuria chrome 4 light ceiling lamp is popping fuses. I have switched to the T8A slow blow type.
Damn Ikea, your stuff is cool looking but would it hurt you to have a catalogue of your old stuff? Some of us continue to use it and not simply throw it away when it breaks. When I cannot even find more than one image of my lamp on the Internet you know something is wrong. Anyway, Little Weed’s Aventuria halogen chrome ceiling lamp needs a T8A 5x20mm slow blow fuse. Fast blow is not acceptable.
The Ikea Aventuria halogen chrome ceiling lamp is flashy, just like Little Weed likes. The center looks like a chrome propeller cover. Each of the 4 “blades” of the prop are also chrome, housing a 20 watt halogen bulb. 80 watts for a ceiling fixture is somewhat excessive but he likes it a lot. The halogen casts different brown hues all over his room.
The housing is metal as are the light pots. The halogen bulbs are expensive and hard to find, even for 20 watts each, but they give off showroom-like light. It is a splurge for a room.
Unfortunately this lamp also has a tendency to blow internal fuses. I have gone through a pack of T8A 8A 5 x 20 mm regular glass fuses fairly quickly. They are blowing faster now. Today I have switched to T8A 8A 5 x 20mm slow blow fuses and I hope this solves the problem.
Other marking on the lamp include: WK951 T8A
