Recently I have been observing a different WordPress spam technique that uses WP trackbacks. This technique has some interesting characteristics that are unlike other types of spam, so my usual clues as to origin and banning method did not work. Fortunately this technique also has some unique characteristics that can be used to ban them. Fortunately.
When one WP site links to another WP site, the WP sites communicate with each other using a method called trackbacks. The first site sends a trackback request to the second site. The second site posts the trackback as a special comment, which invites the user to click through to the first site. These trackbacks are automated, making it convenient for both sites.

Facial recognition sunglasses used by Chinese police in Zhengzhou, Henan Province during Chinese New Year.
Facial recognition software has been used in China for quite a while. China has used facial recognition software to scan large gatherings of people in an effort to capture known criminals. The benefit to greater society outweighs all privacy concerns. In North America, we value our privacy and do not want the authorities to accumulate vast amounts of facial recognition data. North Americans believe we should be able to walk around in public and not be recorded for whatever purpose.
I am Canadian, so cannot help but be sympathetic to a Canadian viewpoint. This sympathy unconsciously biases my views and I do not apologize for this as it is normal. When I ask if a country has the right to kill its own citizens, I am specifically asking whether it is morally right for China or Russia to discipline and kill its own citizens.
In the Western context, which I am from, there have been recent cases where citizens have gone abroad to join foreign armies and have vowed to return home and kill their own citizens. In these cases the US and Britain have allowed their forces to kill their own citizens, citing self-defence and national security
Strong, WordPress is, otherwise it would have been breached long ago. These three attackers did a brute force login attack on me today. This is not the first and will certainly not be the last. While I can track down the IP and ISP, and ban them, their origins I will never know. This is the murky world of the internet, and it is worldwide.

Three hackers, one from Africa, one from Russia, one from India. This is the global entity called the Internet.
New am I as an IT recruiter. Sure, I have interviewed and hired for my own development team, but this new job has me reading hundreds of resumes a week. Here are some observations about reading resumes and talking to job candidates: 1. Canadians do not have as much education as candidates from the USSR and China, 2. I have no idea of the authenticity of many Indian post secondary schools, 3. There is more to life than money, 4. Why post your resume up to a job board when I cannot even contact you?
