Logitech-v-u0018-webcam, vertical lines problem and fix
This Logitech V-U0018 webcam problem is quite odd: you see a lot of coloured vertical lines, and no image. It happened all of a sudden, with no software or OS changes. The fix, after a Google Search, is removal of the cover and a slight upward pull on the camera lens. Very odd, however it worked!
I used a flat head screwdriver to remove the outer cover. There is a bottom cutout void for this on the cover. Then you’ll need a magnetic screwdriver to remove the three screws holding the inner cover on. These came out very easily. Connect your camera to your computer, pull gently on the camera lens, and the image returned as normal.
This fix was like magic!
