Good Samaritan quickly reverses unfortunate situation

On Saturday morning I went out for a bike ride. Along the way somehow my chain jumped and smashed my derailleur in to the spokes which locked the rear wheel.

I was a long way from home and had no choice but to walk home carrying my bike. At age 74 this wasn’t the kind of exercise I was looking for.

About half-way home someone saw me and stopped his car to ask if he could help. Fixing the bicycle there was not an option, but he told me to wait, went home and put his bike rack on his car and drove me right to my front door.

All I know is his name is Don and he lives in the area of Huntingwood Avenue and Birchmount Road. Many thanks to a Good Samaritan and good Scarborough neighbour.
