Morag’s Imperial sewing machine model 703 has a side threading path and no manual, so I though I’d help her out as best I can. As this is a circa 1950 machine it would be difficult to find a manual after 67 years! She had previously asked how to fill her bobbin.

1. From the thread spool, thread through the top thread guide. The thread simply drops into the hole
2. Guide the thread to the left of the thread tensioner, going through the thread tensioner, to the right and around the thin wire thread guide. You might need to play with the threading path here near the wire guide.
3. Through the takeup lever, from left, through the hole, to the right.
4. down through the thick wire guide
5. down through the flat wire guide
6. through the needle
7. happy sewing!

The 703 probably needs a good oiling. With all metal parts she should be rearing to get to work.
