Using the Hoover Dam as a battery by pumping water upstream during the day, thus reducing electricity generation.
I had heard about this idea before, and think it requires further study. The problem is that we cannot easily store electricity. Any electricity generated needs to be used immediately, or we risk blackouts.
California has a lot of wind and solar power generation, but also has hydroelectric power generation from the colossal Hoover Dam. If operated at the same time there might be too much power during the day, when wind and solar contribute, and not enough power at night, when wind and solar do not generate electricity. Excess generated electricity cannot be stored.
The Manchester Bomber used a Yuasa 12v 2.1aH lead acid battery
Some guy blew himself up in Manchester, Britain, at a music concert. Lots of people were killed and severely injured. How someone can blow themselves up in a crowded concert full of young kids is beyond me. I was very shocked at the lack of humanity.
Crime scene photos of the event were released by the New York Times, photos of the bomber’s backpack and battery. I should not be able to view these images on the web. How an active crime scene can be so compromized is beyond me. I am sure the British police are just livid, as this is an active crime. Someone should be fired for the leak.
This mystery shopping test was done on Friday March 13, 2009, accompanied by my daughter. She rarely goes with me because she believes, and rightly so, that grocery shopping is boring. I try to impress upon her that without someone doing the shopping we would run out of food and therefore starve because we have no direct conduit to a grocery store built into our house.
