Talking to work out differences of opinion can give you great results that are acceptable to all parties. It is the premise that the United Nations and even the European Union has been built. That said, all these discussions do take a lot of time, and can be very bureaucratic. Going to extremes, having so many discussions can be used as a tool against one of the parties. This is a manipulation of one party over another. This is where I think the UN has sadly gone so wrong.
In this CoVid-19 era there has been a lot of talk about freedom, specifically personal freedom, the freedom to do as you wish irregardless of how it negatively affects others. National freedom, at a country level, is the freedom to not be blackmailed by trading partners. You would think that trade would not have such dark tones, but in this day and age trade between countries has been weaponized. It looks like this is changing.
The reduced local CoVid-19 Omicron transmissions here in Ontario and the Western world, has been a welcome sight for everyone. This has coincidentally merged with the frustration the Western world has experienced after living with the virus and pandemic for over two years. We all want to breath a sigh of relief and get back to a pre-pandemic life. We all wish to get back to living more normally. The restrictions must go and not return.

My poor Mum bought some fake KN95 masks from a friend of a family member. The masks are physically small, meaning they probably have insufficient coverage. Chinese made, and completely fake. This is a waste of money and dangerous in that it might offer minimal protection against CoVid-19.
The package of 10 KN95 masks came in a bag with a zip-lock type closure. There is a single paper label inserted into the bag. The masks only have “KN95″ embossed on both sides, with no company logo or name, and no Chinese “GB” product certificate number. such as “GB2626-2019”
The Samsung SM-J3270V phone has a maximum power saving mode, where apps are shut down to save power. This is great to extend your usable time, but if you only use a minimum of apps, limited to four chosen apps on your home screen.
I had a hella time figuring out how to change the home screen apps. It is not very apparent. Here’s how to do it.
In maximum power saving mode, top right hand corner, hit the burger for more options
hit “edit”. Disregard the second option “Turn off Maximum Power saving mode” as they are not related.
From there you have the option to add or delete the four chosen home screen apps
The transition of public policy to “Living with CoVid-19” has been publicly announced. While it is coming, the implications are not yet known. What does “Living with CoVid-19” really mean? I am trying to figure this out, as there is scant honest information that I have gleaned from the news.
It has been over two years since CoVid-19 has blighted the earth. From Wuhan, China, it spanned out all over the earth, reproducing and growing, maiming and killing people. The race between CoVid-19 strains results in the winner finding ever better ways of infecting humans and animals. The other strains die off. Much has been done to blunt the sword of Covid-19, but now we are at a point where we’ve chosen to live with the virus instead of trying to eradicate it. CoVid-19 is formidable and is here to stay.
You could see it coming from a long way: Omicron will overrun the Ontario healthcare system. While the system usually works for us in normal times. It’s internal partial collapse is imminent. The cascade of partial failure is very evident, and will continue until Omicron passes. We can only hope that another variant will not emerge. It is clear that we, as advanced as we think we are, are at the mercy of this little, persistent, virus. We could have done more, I think, but that may not have prevented the collapse.
