Slightly more expensive, is pork butt, but it looks pretty similar to pork picnic roast. Shopping at Chinese stores does not make the topic clearer. What is the difference? After some research the pork butt is pork front shoulder at the top of the leg, while the pork picnic roast is the rest of the leg, below the butt.
Yes, I am not a butcher, not even close, but you need to know about meat in order to cook and feed your family properly. Butt, is an old German word for the widest part of an animal. In the case of a pig, the widest part is the front shoulders, and such the front shoulders are called pork butt. How picnic became the name for all the meat further down I don’t know.
Not new, global warming, as a topic for conversation. Oh no. But I fear that it may be unfair for First World countries to point the finger at developing countries around the world and tell them to reduce emissions. They have a valid point. Let us look at CO2 emissions per capita instead.
Talk about a huge inequality. Even in the top 10 countries for CO2 emissions per capita, the bottom 2, Poland and the UK, use less than half of the top 4 polluters.
Not being one to was the car often, I’ve opted to install rear splash guards. They will keep the rear of the car cleaner, as there will be less splash up of water and snow. The front splash guards came with the car. As all Canadian Fits already come with front splash guards I only had to install the rear ones. I did not need to remove the rear tires to install the splash guards, but did need a really short philips screwdriver. Here in Canada these rear splash guards cost $61CAD for the pair. The quality of the splash guards is quite good. The fit was also great.
Free, the Internet should be, freedom to express oneself, is the standard thinking of most people. No one should be able to censor content. All should be able to read whatever they wish, whatever they can find. China, with their “Great Firewall of China”, does censor content for their 1.4B citizens, and is widely condemned for their radical actions. I am rethinking censorship of the Internet. In light of the rise of ISIS and other terrorist organizations maybe we should consider censorship for certain situations.
Had a hunch I did, that the warped Alvin cutting mat at Goodwill could be repaired, and I was right. The mat seemed to have some smooth but pretty funky curves and did not sit flat. I baked it!
The Alvin cutting mat is pretty thick, so simply bending it would probably break it. After some Google research I tried the oven reheat solution. Here it is:
Replacing fan and light switches on a San Yang Pai CY-760 range hood. Toronto, Canada, photo1 by Don Tai
My San Yang Pai model CY-760-A range hood came with our house. Overall it is a good range hood suitable for Chinese stir fry cooking. We did not buy it new, so I do not know exactly how old it is, but I estimate it to be about 20 years old. The on/off switches were giving trouble, and the left fan stopped turning on. These switches are in constant use.
The 2016 Honda Fit is a good car. Overall the car is very suitable for our small family, not too big and not too small. The fuel economy is really good, and the price, while higher than competing subcompacts, was reasonable. That being said, Honda did cut corners on this car to save money and increase fuel economy. If you are considering this car for purchase you should be aware of these cost cutting measures before you purchase. Hang out at the Fit Freak forum to talk with a wide variety of owners. I’ll keep a running tab of defects as time passes.
Worried, I was, when I heard news that the older red and white OHIP cards are now invalid. This is not true. If you received a notice from OHIP that you need to renew, then do so. Otherwise there are no worries.
If you are not sure, then call the ServiceOntario INFOline at 1-866-532-3161 and ask. You may have to wait a bit, so use your phone’s headset. They will search your card number and tell you. Red and white cards are still valid.
Buy a smartphone, you did, but do you really own it? You use your phone when new, but after a while the phone slows down. Is it the phone or are you just getting irritable and impatient with yourself. Relax and wait a bit, right? Maybe not, because your phone may actually be slowing down. It is at this point, around the 1.5 year mark, that you consider buying a new phone. Has your spanky new phone really degraded that much? Smartphones are at least a couple of hundred dollars, so buying a new one every 1.5 years can get very expensive. But do you really need a new one? Remove the bloatware from your phone first, then decide. Bloatware can account for 1/3d of all apps running on your phone, so removing them can make a significant positive difference to the smooth operation of your phone.
Slowing down was Big Weed’s smartphone, a 2 year old LG Optimus L9 P769, V21D, from Wind Mobile in Canada. Bought for $200CAD unlocked, it only works with Wind, not Bell or Bully Red. Texts were being dropped and were glitchy. The phone obviously had some software issues. Big Weed was very hesitant to touch her phone, lest we damaged it in any way. When we did do something we did soft brick it, so there was valid cause for concern. Anyway it is now rooted, has the ClockWork Mod recovery manager, a T-Mobile V20D rom, and has been debloated. The phone runs better and faster than new.
