Firefox NoScript Plugin Problems: Unclear Documentation, bad UI

Firefox Noscript plugin 10.1.5.9 trust a site. Note that I hit the large S for google.com and now it says trusted. Click the large clock and it will turn into a small clock, which means it is now permanent and will be retained when the browser closes.

After a couple of sites I visit decided to use overly aggressive javascript I decided to try the NoScript plugin v10.1.5.9. This plugin, standard on the Tor browser, works quite well. Unfortunately when I close the browser my settings are all lost and I have to redo them. I tried to read the documentation, which is badly written and even tried to find the solution in a Google search. Finally I stumbled upon the FAQ from within the Firefox plugin area, from my browser and found a solution. I wrote some NoScript Plugin: Simple Instructions for myself.

WordPress EvoLve Theme: Review

As a WordPress developer you seem to be always looking for a new theme, something that will be fresh, new and novel. This is what brought me to use the EvoLve theme.

On the plus side the EvoLve theme is a free theme, available on WordPress.org, from a company called Theme4Press. The look is clean and uncluttered, something I can present and work with. I do like the home page slider options, which allow you to have up to 5 slider images. I also like the 3 front page content boxes that appear under the slider. They have large eye catching icons, some text and a call to action button for more info.

Since I became the custodian of my Imperial 535 sewing machine I have been looking for a user manual. Many people have written in looking for the same. As luck would have it, Gord Bestwick of British Columbia, Canada happened upon my blog page and has kindly cleaned up and offered me an electronic version of his user manual, for free non-commercial distribution. This means no one need pay for this manual and all Imperial, New Home and Janome 535 owners can enjoy it. This manual is applicable to many Japanese sewing machines of similar era. Between us, the world is a better sewing place.

Drupal 6 Workflow Module: Documentation

I have been doing workflow applications going on a decade now using Domino Notes. It is very sophisticated and secure but administratively very heavy. I was intrigued with Drupal’s Workflow module. I am using Drupal 6.9 and Workflow version 6.x-1.1. Though the module is at first confusing, it seems to work quite well.

___Workflow allows you to define a process or series of steps necessary to get to your final destination. Each step requires some action and approval before moving to the next step. For a simple example, in order to eat an apple the workflow steps required could include: purchase, wash, eat. Each of these steps needs to be defined, and each step requires someone to do the step and to approve it.
