TD Canada Trust ATM Usability error, makes my withdrawal much longer
Cash withdrawals from the ATM should be fast and easy. At TD Canada Trust they had set up a “Most Frequent” transaction button, which I like. I hit the button, receive my cash, take my card and slip, and I’m done. A couple of months ago things changed, which now makes the transaction longer and more complex. I am not amused.
When I withdraw cash from the ATM I usually take out $200CAD, programmed as my “Most Frequent” transaction, which is given to me as 10 $20CAD bills. Recently TD Canada Trust started giving me 2 $50CAD and 5 $20CAD bills. The $50CAD bills are disliked in the stores.
My wife, who infrequently takes out cash, said she was able to choose her denominations. Why was it that I could not. Today I did the same regular transaction and received 2 $50CAD bills and 5 $20CAD bills. Not wanting the 2 $50s, I deposited the 2 $50CAD bills back into the ATM and made yet a third transaction, a withdrawal of $100. What happens is when you do not do your “Most Frequent” transaction the ATM gives you the option of the money denominations. Aha, this is how my wife got all $20s. I chose all $20s and this gave me the required 5 $20CAD bills.
Such a bother because someone figured that it is ok to give people $50s? The result is that my “Most Frequent” transaction is not as useful to me as before. That is a negative user experience.
