This electric glass kettle, the Hamilton-Beach 1.7L Electric Glass kettle, has been quite reliable over the last few years. It boils water quite quickly, faster than on our gas stove, which we have to turn on the fan and vent afterwards. It is also easy to clean. After a while the kettle stopped turning on, so I had to do a couple of things to it. Here is the user manual for reference. I did not see any replaceable parts available from Hamilton-Beach.
Aika ML100a electronic pressure cooker, 爱家, broken after only 1.5 years. Made in China
I have seen a couple of these Chinese made Aika ML100a electric pressure cookers on the side of the road, discarded. They have obviously malfunctioned in someway and are now garbage. I decided to pick one up and rip it apart.
This Aika pressure cooker was probably a response to the popular “Instant Pot”. The Chinese is 爱家, aijia, “love family”. The name Aika is also not Japanese.
Ibanez Roadstar II RB800 electric bass, 1987: body finishes were black, pearl, red, fountain blue
Ibanez basses are difficult to identify. They often have no specific model numbers written on the bass. After heavy use these model markings can wear off, making identification of vintage models difficult. Many sellers using Craigslist and Kijiji will also post poor photos of basses, making ID very difficult. This post will positively identify the Ibanez Roadstar II RB800 electric bass, as well as provide related internet links. There is actually very little information about this Made in Japan, Fugigen factory 1987 model on the internet, so every little bit helps.
